Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is a safe and painless examination that provides detailed visualization of internal organ structures. It plays a key role in diagnosing neurological, orthopedic, oncological, and other conditions. The examination is performed without the use of X-ray or other ionizing radiation.

Your Visit

Please arrive 15–20 minutes before your scheduled MRI appointment.

Pre-Examination Information

At least 2 hours before the examination, do not eat, drink, or smoke. Before entering the examination room, we recommend that you use the restroom.

Changing Before the Examination

Before the examination, please remove your clothing, jewelry, phone, watch, and any other metal or electronic items.

Course of the Examination

During the MRI examination, you will lie on the examination table, positioned inside a cylindrical scanner that uses magnetic and radio waves to produce images of the examined anatomical area. To obtain high-quality images, it is absolutely essential that you remain still throughout the examination.

During the scan, the staff will use positioning aids to minimize movement and enhance your comfort. You will be under the supervision of a radiologic technologist at all times and will be able to communicate via a call button and microphone.

The duration of the examination depends on the area being examined. It most commonly takes approximately 20 to 50 minutes.

After the Examination

Without contrast agent, you may leave immediately after the examination.

After administration of contrast agent, you will remain under observation for approximately 20 minutes.
