Scope of services provided

  • comprehensive diagnostics of respiratory system diseases
  • monitoring of the course and effectiveness of treatment
  • examinations for preventive and occupational health assessment purposes
  • preoperative functional examinations

Examinations performed

Basic pulmonary function test (flow–volume curve) including bronchodilator testing to assess airway patency.

An examination enabling the measurement of static lung volumes, capacities, and airway resistance. It also includes basic spirometry.

Benefits of the examination:

precise determination of the type and severity of ventilatory impairment

assessment of pulmonary hyperinflation

evaluation of the reversibility of airway obstruction

A contraindication is the inability to cooperate during breathing maneuvers.

The lung transfer factor test is used to assess the function of the alveolar-capillary membrane. It is indicated when pulmonary parenchymal damage or disorders of the pulmonary circulation are suspected.

Recommendation: Do not smoke before the examination; bring your hemoglobin test result with you.

An examination measuring airway resistance, particularly suitable for young children (from 2 years of age) and uncooperative patients. It does not require active breathing maneuvers and is performed during quiet breathing.

Examination of bronchial hyperresponsiveness in children and adults.

Indications:

differential diagnosis of cough and dyspnea

suspected bronchial asthma

monitoring asthma activity during treatment

occupational health / medical assessment purposes

Important: Selected medications must be discontinued before the examination according to specific instructions (beta₂-agonists, antihistamines, corticosteroids, etc.), unless the aim is to verify their effect

An examination performed during free running or on a cycle ergometer to assess exercise-induced respiratory symptoms.

Comprehensive exercise testing performed on a cycle ergometer combined with analysis of exhaled gases, ECG monitoring, blood pressure measurement, and blood oxygen saturation monitoring.

Indications:

  • differentiation between pulmonary and cardiac causes of dyspnea
  • assessment of exercise tolerance
  • preoperative evaluation
  • occupational health / medical assessment purposes

Exercise testing on an ergometer with non-invasive measurement of blood oxygen saturation to detect latent respiratory insufficiency.
